Where files live

Where your files live

About 6 minutes. Practice computer only. Nothing on your own computer changes.

The lesson fills your screen. You can stop at any time with Exit, at the top right.

The practice desktop is easiest on a computer, laptop or tablet.

Help

  • Read the instruction, then choose Next when you are ready.
  • Choose Previous to go back. Your work is kept.

This is a practice desktop. Nothing you click here changes your own computer.

Using the keyboard

Tab moves between controls. Enter or Space presses the highlighted button.

Everything works with the keyboard as well as the mouse: Tab moves between things, the arrow keys move between files, Enter opens, Shift and F10 opens a file's menu, F2 renames, Delete deletes, and Ctrl with C, X, V or A copies, cuts, pastes or selects all.

Using Help never affects your progress.
